Min: Govt may force state firms to move to Russia software by 2025

MOSCOW, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry has suggested obliging state companies to move to national software with mature IT solutions and competition fully by 2025, Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Wednesday.

“We can add to the directives of the state companies a clear indicator that can be equal to 100% by 2025 on the mature products. It seems to us everything is ready here, and the products are good, competitive positions on many directions are present. And we think demand could be pushed here more with the introduction of these target positions,” Shadayev said.

The directives for the state companies are strict.

“They have one figure now – Russian programs, software and hardware solutions should account for 70% of expenses. It means we can set additional indicators of 100% on systemic solutions with, first, high maturity, and, second, competition,” the minister said.
